Orange Crinkle Cookies
2 cups All-purpose flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
¼ tsp Salt
½ cup Unsalted butter at room temperature
½ cup Dark brown sugar
½ cup Granulated sugar
1 Large eggs
½ tbsp Vanilla extract
1 tbsp Orange Zests (Zest of a large Orange)
4 tbsp Orange juice
Orange or Yellow food colouring
To roll the cookies
½ cup Granulated sugar
½ cup Icing sugar
In a large bowl mix together flour, baking powder and salt and set aside
Beat butter with both granulated and brown sugar starting on medium speed until light and fluffy
Add the egg and beat well, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed
Add orange zest,juice,vanilla and beat well
Lower the mixer speed and add flour slowly and beat well
Add food coloring
Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and refrigerate least 2 hours
***Preheat oven to 350F
Prepare two bowls with granulated sugar and icing sugar
Scoop chilled dough and roll into balls and roll in first granulated sugar and then into icing sugar to cover completely
Arrange cookies on a parchment paper 1 inch apart
Refrigerate cookies about 30 minutes
Bake cookies about 20 minutes
Let cool on the tray for 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely

*** dough can chill overnight
