A Chocolate Biscotti with hint of spice, can enjoy any time of the day!!!!
Ingredients
2 cups All-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp Baking Powder
¼ tsp Ginger
¼ tsp Cinnamon
¼ tsp Clove
¼ tsp Salt
½ cup Cocoa Powder
½ cup Butter
¾ cup Sugar
3 Eggs
For Glaze
1 cup Sugar
½ tsp Almond extract
4 tbsp Milk
**Preheat oven to 350F
**Line a large baking sheet lined with a parchment paper
Whisk flour,baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, clove, salt, Cocoa powder and set aside
Using electric mixer with pedal attachment beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
Add one egg at a time and mix well
Lower the mixer speed and add flour mix and beat until evenly blended
Spread the batter on baking sheet into shape of a 3 inch wide log
Bake about 35-40 minutes
Cool at least 20 minutes
Set oven temperature to 325F
Place the biscotti log on a cutting board and using serrated knife slice
the log into ½ to ¾ inches thick slices
Place slices back on baking tray and bake for 10 minutes
Remove from oven and cool completely before drizzling the icing glaze
To make the glace
Mix 1 cup icing sugar with ½ tsp almond extract and 4 tbsp whole milk and drizzle over the cooled biscotti
***Biscotti can keep upto a week stored in an airtight container
